HiporeTM is Asahi Kasei's polyolefin flat-film membrane, used in a wide range of high-technology fields, such as lithium ion battery separators.
Flat-film membranes look like plastic films, but are actually filled with microscopic pores. The HiporeTM high-performance microporous film membrane is available in thicknesses ranging from 25 µm to several hundred µm, and with highly uniform pore sizes ranging from 0.05 to 0.5 µm.
Applications of HiporeTM: Batteries are indespensible for mobile electronics products. HiporeTM is widely used as a separator in lithium ion rechargeable batteries and primary lithium batteries, having earned an outstanding reputation for high performance and safety. HiporeTM separators are under development for a variety of other types of battery.
