products:
Planova® filters are designed to remove viruses during the manufacture of biotherapeutic drug products such as biopharmaceuticals and plasma derivatives, and currently are employed in the commercial production of over 100 therapeutic products. Utilizing a hollow-fiber microporous membrane constructed of naturally hydrophilic cuprammonium regenerated cellulose with a narrow pore distribution, Planova® filters offer consistently high viral removal performance, while simultaneously permitting high protein transmission over a wide-range of therapeutic product applications.
Planova® filters are available as single-use, self-contained modules in four mean pores sizes of 15 nm, 19 nm, 35 nm, and 72 nm (Planova® 15N, 20N, 35N , and 75N, respectively). A range of effective surface areas for each mean pore size allows simple scale-up from validation studies to process scale.
company profile:
Asahi Kasei Corporation is a US$10 billion technology leader providing innovative, science-based solutions to a diverse range of markets including healthcare, chemicals and plastics, apparel, housing and construction, and electronics.
